Oven Renovation, East Sussex: Summer 2013
- Under construction
- The completed renewal
- The happy owners with the completed oven
We were approached by a couple in Chailey, East Sussex, who had had trouble with a misfiring oven built by a local builder.
After some use, they’d found it was not keeping the heat in as well as it used to. When we investigated, we found several cracks had appeared in the oven itself. The couple also wanted to refresh the oven design and give it a new lease on life in time for the summer.

- The old cracks – now sealed
- Cracks in the old oven
In a short time, the La Rustica team had stripped the oven down. We applied fresh sealant to the oven proper, helping to secure it and keep the heat in for many pizzas to come! After that, our team redesigned the oven itself, making it into more of a centrepiece for our clients’ garden. The clients were delighted, and we’re sure the great pizzas and newly-renewed oven will make this Sussex garden the envy of their friends all summer!
